The amount of conflicting news coming out of the Washington Redskins camp regarding their concussed quarterback Robert Griffin III has reached epic proportions.
According to NFL Media’s Jeff Darlington, well-informed sources have reported that RG3 doesn’t believe that he sustained a concussion in the Week 2 preseason game against the Detroit Lions.
Washington announced on Friday that RG3 had not been cleared by an outside neurologist, Robert N. Kurtze and that he would miss Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. The report came after head coach Jay Gruden told reporters that Griffin was cleared and ready to play on Saturday.
It was also reported that even though Griffin doesn’t think he has a concussion he was advised to trust the league’s neurologist as the final word when it concerns anything concussion-related.
Whatever the prognosis is with RG3, the team will have Kirk Cousins start against the Ravens. This will be considered Cousins’ chance to prove himself in order to earn the starting job, which is all but his to lose according to recent developments in Washington.
Whether or not he did sustain a concussion, it’s clear Griffin is confused at this time.
Or he did partake in some of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson’s “Recover Water” right after he was hit last week?
Perhaps the two quarterbacks have been conspiring on this topic.
This story just proves all the more why the Washington Redskins are considered one of the most dysfunctional teams currently in the NFL.
