While the Washington Redskins have started an organizational retool under new head coach Ron Rivera, owner Daniel Snyder still carries the most powerful voice. Now with the 2020 NFL Draft approaching, Synder reportedly has his heart set on one player with the No. 2 overall pick.

While the Redskins have been connected to Tua Tagovailoa, with fearing that potentially letting him slip by could be like passing on Michael Jordan, Snyder reportedly still believes in Dwayne Haskins, per Sports Illustrated. Furthermore, Synder is in love with Haskins’ former teammate, Ohio State Buckeyes defensive end Chase Young.

“I don’t think Dan (Snyder) would want that,” a source said, via Sports Illustrated. “He wants to give Haskins the opportunity and I think Dan is infatuated with [Ohio State defensive end] Chase Young.”

It’s hard to blame Snyder for loving Young as a player and person. The 6-foot-5 edge rusher is an unstoppable force off the edge that racked up 16.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss in his junior season, while finishing his three-year career with 40.5 tackles for loss and 30.5 sacks.

Even more impressive than Young’s talent, he reportedly blew teams away in interviews at the NFL Combine. From his energy to his intelligence and leadership, coaches and executives came away from interviews firmly convinced he is a franchise player.

While Haskins might have struggled as a rookie, passing on Young would be an even bigger mistake by the Redskins. Young is projected to be drafted with the No. 2 pick in the latest mock draft and that seems to be the exact scenario Snyder wants.
