Barring any last-minute changes, the Baltimore Ravens are reportedly going to sign safety Tony Jefferson, one of the more coveted free agents this year.

The Ravens were reportedly battling against the Cleveland Browns to land Jefferson, but apparently Baltimore had more to offer the young man who has so much promise. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, money wasn’t one of those things, however.
The #Ravens are expected to sign safety Tony Jefferson, who leaves more money on the table from the #Browns, source said.

Originally an undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma, Jefferson worked his way onto the active roster in 2013 and has been steadily improving since then.
In the past couple of years, Jefferson truly broke out for the Arizona Cardinals, and he started all but two games last season before an MCL injury sidelined him in Week 16. He finished the season with 92 tackles and two sacks.
One player we know will be thrilled to welcome Jefferson is veteran safety Eric Weddle, who subtly reached out to Jefferson on Twitter recently (check it out here).
While Baltimore did lose right tackle Rick Wagner to the Detroit Lions, landing Jefferson might balance the scales a bit. He’s going to be a dynamic player for the Ravens, who must be thrilled to have landed him.
