The Carolina Panthers made the long-anticipated release of three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen official on Monday.

While Olsen has plans to continue his broadcasting career, one of the game’s most accomplished tight ends is not about to hang up his cleats.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Olsen will meet with both the Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins this week.

The 34-year-old tight end has a built-in relationship with both organizations. Bills general manager Brandon Beane was a member of the Carolina Panthers’ front office from 2008-16.

Meanwhile, new Redskins head coach ron Rivera was the Panthers’ head man for all of Olsen’s nine seasons with the team before being fired about midway through the 2019 campaign.

It remains to be seen what Olsen will prioritize in free agency. Buffalo is much closer to Super Bowl contention than the long-downtrodden Redskins.

For their part, the Skins are in need of a new tight end after Vernon Davis announced his retirement on Sunday.
