WATCH: Vernon Davis announces retirement in epic fashion

Vernon Davis retirement

With his former San Francisco 49ers squad about to play in Super Bowl LIV, veteran tight end Vernon Davis is in Miami hanging out with the recently-retired Rob Gronkowski.

Davis also took time out of his day to do a video with Mr. Gronkowski. In the process, Davis announced his retirement in epic fashion.

That’s probably the best retirement announcement we’ve ever seen. It also seems as if VD did hang out with Gronkowski at his Super Bowl party earlier in the weekend.

Davis, 36, steps away from the game after 14 seasons in the NFL. He was an original first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2006, earning two Pro Bowl trips in nine-plus seasons with the team.

Davis also put up one of the greatest catches in franchise history during the 2012 NFL Playoffs against the New Orleans Saints.

Davis spent his final four seasons with the Redskins, finishing his career with 583 receptions.
