Former New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi could soon be headed back to the Big Apple.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the New York Mets will interview Girardi for their vacant managerial job. Girardi joins former MLB great Carlos Beltran and current Arizona Diamondbacks Director of Player Development Mike Bell as known candidates.

Girardi managed for the Yankees from 2008-17, posting a combined 910-710 record and leading the team to its last World Series title back in 2009.

He also managed one season with the Miami Marlins, posting a 78-84 record. Girardi has in the recent past noted he’d like to return to managing.
