Report: Marqise Lee placed on IR after season-ending knee injury

Marqise Lee

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without receiver Marqise Lee for the entire 2018 season. The team placed Lee on injured reserve on Monday after tests revealed ligament damage to his left knee, which was injured during the team’s third preseason game.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted, Jalen Ramsey has blamed the NFL’s controversial new helmet rule for this injury, which was suffered when a defender went low and took out Lee’s knees.

Lee had just signed a lucrative contract in free agency to remain with the Jaguars and was expected to take on a more considerable work load as the team’s top receiver after Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns departed in free agency.

In four NFL seasons, the former USC star has caught 171 passes for 2,166 yards and eight touchdowns.
