Report: Jared Odrick filing $5.5 million grievance against Jaguars

Jared Odrick

Jared Odrick was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars last month, and apparently the divorce came with some extra baggage.

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today Sports, the defensive end is filing a grievance against the club in response to a claim he voided guaranteed money by refusing checkups during injury rehabilitation.

When Odrick was released by Jacksonville, the franchise saved $8.5 million in cap space and a $2 million roster bonus. None of that money was guaranteed, as his five-year contract with the club was front loaded to the first two years.

Now a free agent, Odrick has already visited with the New England Patriots and, more importantly, passed a physical while he was there. He missed all but six games last season dealing with an elbow injury and never did live up to the big-money deal he landed in 2015 as a free agent out of Miami.
