The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly set to trade five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2020 fifth-round draft pick, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter notes that “Campbell will try to finalize an extension with Baltimore.”
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport also confirmed a new contract is part of this deal.
A former second-round pick out of Miami, Campbell has been a dominant lineman for over a decade in the NFL. Last season, he tallied 56 tackles and 6.5 sacks, and since 2008 he’s racked up 88 sacks and three interceptions.
With that in mind, it sure seems like the Ravens are getting an absolute steal here.
Set to earn $17.5 million in 2020, Campbell was heading into the last year of his current deal, which has only $2.5 million in guarantees.
