Report: Giants could fire Ben McAdoo if Giants lose to 49ers

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo

The New York Giants have been an abject disaster this season. It’s the second under head coach Ben McAdoo, who replaced Tom Coughlin, a two-time Super Bowl-winning coach for Big Blue.

Heading into Week 10, the Giants sport a 1-7 record and are already almost mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Additionally, there are players speaking out against McAdoo already, and it’s clear he’s lost the locker room.

With that in mind, it’s not all that surprising to hear Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk report McAdoo could be done by Monday if the Giants lose to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday.

“And so, despite precedent, reputation, and all reporting, there’s talk in league circles that McAdoo could be done on Monday, if the Giants lose to the 49ers on Sunday.”

The 49ers have yet to win a game this year. They have lost their last three games (to Dallas, Philadelphia and Arizona) by a combined 63 points.

If the Giants cannot get a win against arguably the worst team in the league, then McAdoo should be fired. Heck, we’re of the opinion he should have been fired already.

At the very least, it seems like it’s a given McAdoo will be gone at the end of the year.
