Report: Would be a shock if the Giants retained Ben McAdoo

The New York Giants are in the midst of one of the most trying and dismal seasons in franchise history. They head into Week 10’s matchup against the winless San Francisco 49ers with a 1-7 mark.

We’ve seen both Janoris Jenkins and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie suspended for violating team rules. Meanwhile, star receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall are lost for the season.

Now comes this report suggesting that it would be a shock if the Giants retain a head coach in Ben McAdoo that the players apparently “hate.”

That’s pretty stunning in and of itself. McAdoo led his Giants to an 11-5 record and a playoff spot in his first season as the team’s head coach in 2016. At that point, it seemed the sky was the limit here.

Seeing the team implode in a 51-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week obviously changed the dynamic a bit. There’s certainly a scenario in play that suggests the players have given up on McAdoo. If so, the toxic environment that brings just wouldn’t be sustainable in Jersey.
