The Dallas Cowboys knew they landed a special player in CeeDee Lamb. While the rookie receiver is setting lofty expectations for himself, he might achieve them thanks to the team’s big plans for him during the 2020 NFL season.
CeeDee Lamb expected to get “plenty of opportunities” in Cowboys’ offense
When CeeDee Lamb fell to the Cowboys with the No. 17 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, owner Jerry Jones knew it was an opportunity that couldn’t be passed up. While Dallas already boasts two outstanding receivers in Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, the team is dreaming of big things in Lamb’s rookie season.
In a team-by-team prediction of NFL standouts, The Athletic’s Jon Machota said that Lamb is expected to get plenty of opportunities this year. While he will be third in line for targets from Dak Prescott, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore plans to take advantage of Lamb’s versatility.
It’s outstanding news for this offense. Lamb posted incredible stats during his collegiate career at Oklahoma and made highlight plays look routine. Moore plans to use him all over the field, lining him up on the outside, in the slot and even use him as a ballcarrier on jet sweeps.
If that wasn’t enough to get the fans excited, Lamb will wear the iconic No. 88 and could easily build upon the legacy of that number.
