The Dallas Cowboys may have a budding superstar on their hands with rookie receiver CeeDee Lamb. And based on his own expectations, he’ll work tirelessly to achieve greatness.

Cowboys rookie CeeDee Lamb shares Hall of Fame aspirations

Speaking with Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Lamb shared that the main goal for his career is to “Be a Hall of Famer.”

“Have as much of an impact or more that Michael (Irvin) had on the game and on America’s Team. I want to be on a team that makes unbelievable memories together. I feel like that is what we are going to do here.”

He also talked about living up to wearing the famed No. 88 jersey — worn by Irvin, Dez Bryant and legend Drew Pearson.

“That is a legendary number for the legendary America’s team,” Lamb said. “For me to go out there and represent the great legends that have worn that number is a huge presentable moment. I can’t wait to live it out for the first time. I want to continue the legacy of 88. The 88 club is something big in Dallas. I want to live up to it.”

Previously, many thought that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones forced the No. 88 jersey onto Lamb, who wanted No. 10. However, the rookie later explained that he made the choice to don the famous number and is excited to live up to the hype.

CeeDee Lamb’s college stats showcase his immense potential

During his three seasons at Oklahoma, Lamb proved himself to be one of the nation’s premier receivers. He put up jaw-dropping stats throughout his tenure with the Sooners, racking up 173 catches for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns. Along the way, his after-the-catch exploits wowed fans on a weekly basis (watch here).

In Dallas this season, Lamb, selected 17th overall during the 2020 NFL Draft, could be the third option. He joins stars Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, both of whom eclipsed 1,000 yards last season. Even with these talented guys in front of him, Lamb could have a huge rookie campaign for the ‘Boys.
