Report: Carson Wentz likely to be ready for Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz missed the end of the 2017 season and all of the ensuing championship run with a torn ACL. But based on the latest reports, there’s a growing feeling that Wentz will be ready for 2018’s Week 1 opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

This isn’t surprising for anyone who saw Wentz at Philadelphia’s recent OTAs. While that’s a long way from being ready for an NFL game, Wentz certainly looked good there.

Wentz was in the middle of a potential MVP season before getting hurt in 2017. Prior to his Week 14 injury, he had completed 60.2% of his passes for 3,296 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Philadelphia will host the NFL season opener on Thursday, September 6, against the Atlanta Falcons.
