Pro Bowl QB Andy Dalton to the Jaguars?

Andy Dalton traded, Bears

A lot has been made of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback situation following the trade of Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears back in March.

Second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew is seemingly locked into the starting position after the former sixth-round pick showed out big time as a rookie last season. Though, there’s very little behind him on the depth chart.

Jags head coach Doug Marrone went on record Friday indicating that the team is interested in bringing in a veteran to backup Mr. Minshew.

This is interesting in that the Jaguars have been linked to former Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowler Andy Dalton since he was released by the team earlier in the week.

Dalton has a built-in relationship with Jacksonville offensive coordinator Jay Gruden dating back to their days together with the above-mentioned Bengals.

Former NFL MVP Cam Newton is also seemingly an option for Cincinnati. Though, he’s been met with a bare market since the Carolina Panthers released the veteran back in March.
