Jaylen Brown could be the most sought-after player in the league either this summer or in 2024, and another team has now been linked to potential interest in the Boston Celtics star.

The Boston Celtics enter the 2023 NBA Playoffs with grand expectations. After reaching the NBA Finals last year, the team is aiming to finish the story this year and get the franchise their 17th NBA title. However, hovering in the distance is a serious potential change to the roster.

All-Star Jaylen Brown is set to become a free agent after next season, and all indications are he will not re-sign before then and intends to test his value on the open market. Furthermore, he has not shown a preference to stay in Boston after next season.

It has opened the door to the possibility that the Celtics move him this summer to avoid losing him in NBA free agency next year. That possibility would only intensify if the team was shockingly bounced from the postseason early this spring.

With speculation that Jaylen Brown’s day in Boston could be numbered, there have been rumblings that the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks could target the 26-year-old star. However, on Monday, Yahoo Sports NBA insider Jake Fischer added a new team that could be a potential contender since their top player is intrigued by playing alongside Brown.

“I’ll say that Jaylen Brown has been a player that I believe Damian Lillard has had on his proverbial list of those switchy wing type, secondary stars, like the Jerami Grants and Aaron Gordons that we’ve seen linked to Portland and Dame for a while now. Obviously, he’s made some pretty noteworthy comments about Boston fans and being in Boston. I’m not saying Jaylen Brown to Portland and him Damian have been talking. … Look if Boston loses to Miami in the first round, there could be all kinds of different ramifications that come from that.”

The Portland Trail Blazers certainly would be able to offer some interesting assets in a possible Jaylen Brown trade, including a top-10 pick in 2023 and young star Anfernee Simmons.
