Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Presott is under a ton of pressure as his team hosts the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Playoffs Sunday.
Prescott is a mere 2-4 in his playoff career as a member of the Cowboys. Dallas has not earned a spot in the NFC Championship Game since back in 1996, adding more pressure for both Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy.
It’s not a well-kept secret that owner Jerry Jones doesn’t care too much about what the team does in the regular season. In order for the Cowboys to be considered successful, they must advance deep into the playoffs.
Well, things are not looking great early on Sunday. Green Bay drove down the field on its opening drive for a touchdown. On the Cowboys’ second drive after being forced to punt, Prescott threw an interception into the hands of Packers star cornerback Jaire Alexander.
As this was taking place, fans inside AT&T Stadium could be heard groaning. Once the Packers took a 14-0 lead on an Aaron Jones rushing touchdown, another layer was added to that.
Down 14-0 in the second quarter, Prescott then took a sack that took the Cowboys out of field goal position. All said, Prescott completed 3-of-7 passes for 26 yards with an interception in the first 21 minutes of the game.
“Playoff Dak” trends as Dallas Cowboys struggle early
It can’t be considered too much of a surprise that those watching “America’s Team” play were all over Prescott’s struggles. That includes the term “Playoff Dak” trending on X. It was not kind to the star quarterback.
