Even though the Philadelphia Eagles completed the most dominant season in franchise history with a Super Bowl victory, tough decisions loom on the horizon.
The Eagles have several holes to fill and key free agents to re-sign, including All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun, EDGE rusher Josh Sweat, and right guard Mekhi Becton.
According to The Athletic’s Brooks Kubena, the Eagles have $18.1 million in available cap space, ranking 21st in the NFL. General manager Howie Roseman will need to get creative with contracts to create more space to retain top-level talent.
With the Eagles looking to add cap flexibility heading into free agency, these three veterans could become cap casualties.

Three Philadelphia Eagles who might be cut during offseason

Kubena reports that cornerback Darius Slay ($11.8 million), tight end Dallas Goedert ($11.8 million), and cornerback James Bradberry ($7.8 million) represent the final three cap hits among the Eagles’ top eight salaries for 2025.
Slay was nearly released in March 2023 before reaching a three-year, $42 million deal. The six-time Pro Bowler will enter the final year of his contract in 2025. Despite missing two games due to injury in 2024, he played well, recording 13 pass deflections during the regular season and an interception against the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card game. However, with young cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean emerging, Slay’s salary could become expendable.
Goedert has battled injuries over the past three seasons, missing 15 total games, including seven in 2024. Yet he remains a difference-maker when healthy. During the regular season, he recorded 42 catches for 496 receiving yards and two touchdowns before elevating his play in the playoffs, where he added 17 receptions for 215 yards and a touchdown during the Eagles’ Super Bowl run.
Bradberry spent the entire 2024 season on injured reserve with a leg injury. After a stellar debut season with the Eagles in 2022, he earned a three-year, $38 million contract but regressed significantly in 2023. His return to Philadelphia in 2025 appears unlikely.
NFL free agency begins on March 10.
