Entering Week 16, the Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best records in the NFL at 10-4. Yet, coach Nick Sirianni’s team is also fading fast, considering they were once in position to land the NFC’s top seed, earning a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Yet, after three losses in a row, not only do the Eagles no longer possess the NFC’s best record, but they also sit behind the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East Division lead. While the mood around Philadelphia isn’t positive as of late, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer paints a picture of the team’s locker room being in a bad place before the losing even began.

According to team sources who spoke to McLane, “the mood inside the NovaCare Complex was tense.” That’s to be expected after three losses in a row for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.

Yet, as McLane notes, these squabbles began three weeks ago when the Eagles still had the NFL’s best record.

One source close to the team even called the Eagles “The most miserable 10-1 team”. As the source even stated, “Imagine now,” after three straight losses.

Just ahead of their Week 15 loss, we learned of the Eagles’ sudden defensive coordinator change, going from Sean Desai to Matt Patricia mid-season. We’ve also seen an offense that scored 28.1 points per game a season ago, good for third in the NFL. The Eagles are still scoring, but not at the same rate, at 25.6 PPG, ranking seventh in the NFL.

Despite their struggles, the Eagles still have their goals in sight, but this sounds like a locker room in desperate need of a win in Week 16, taking on the New York Giants.
