One of the longest-tenured members of the Philadelphia Eagles’ front office is leaving the organization following the 2024 NFL Draft. While general manager Howie Roseman, who’s been calling the shots in Philly since 2010, isn’t moving on, his right-hand man, is.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jake Rosenberg, the Eagles’ vice president of football administration since 2018, will leave the organization after the NFL Draft, when his contract expires.
On the surface, this may not seem like a big deal, but Rosenberg is the Eagles’ salary cap specialist, and he’s been with Philadelphia since 2012. He’s also been friends with Roseman since the two were in elementary school together, but now it’s time for Rosenberg to pursue his goal of becoming an NFL GM instead of being stuck behind Roseman’s shadow.
“Over a pretty extended period of time I have just thought to myself that if it doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards for me to advance in this league, and have a chance to keep pushing and growing, that at the end of the day, what is involved to do this in terms of a life perspective, it’s not going to be worth it.”

A former bond and commodities trader before joining the NFL, Rosenberg’s duties in Philadelphia included player evaluation, working with the coaching staff while playing a vital role in cap management, contract negotiations, and understanding the collective bargaining agreement.
Rosenberg aims to find another job in the NFL but also admits, “That’s not something that everybody gets to choose.”
