On Sunday, we learned that Patrick Mahomes’ dad, Pat Mahomes, was arrested for reportedly at least his third DUI, according to TMZ Sports.

Mahomes, 53, was arrested late Saturday night and booked in Texas after driving while intoxicated. He was also arrested back in 2019 and sentenced to 40 days in jail. Mahomes ended up serving his time on weekends.

It’s not known what type of legal trouble Mahomes could be facing this time around, with less than seven days to go before his son takes the field for Super Bowl LVIII. Yet, Mahomes is expected to be released from jail later today, which should give him plenty of time to prepare for his trip to Las Vegas, where the Super Bowl will be played at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Mahomes could face up to two to ten years in prison based on Texas laws and regulations.

Mahomes last played in MLB in 2003, but he stuck around for several more years in the minor leagues before wrapping up an 11-year career.
