NBA analyst offers up outrageous scenario where Dallas Mavericks create a Big-4

NBA fans are familiar with the term “Big Three,” however, one well-known analyst and fan of the sport believes the Dallas Mavericks could soon form the rare “Big Four” on their roster.

The Dallas Mavericks 2022-2023 campaign has been very disappointing. After surprising the NBA world by reaching the Conference Finals and falling to eventual league champions the Golden State Warriors last season, the results this season have been nearly the opposite.

Heading into Thursday, the Mavericks are outside the NBA Playoff picture despite having pulled off a blockbuster trade for superstar guard Kyrie Irving before the trade deadline. The move was made to keep incumbent superstar Luka Doncic happy and fill the void left by Jalen Brunson after he departed the team in free agency during the summer.

Unfortunately, the Dallas Mavericks have been worse since the trade and there is now serious doubt that the duo is capable of bringing a second NBA title to Dallas. Well, long-time NBA analyst and insider, Bill Simmons, believes that the pair will be getting help from a couple of multi-time champions soon.

On a recent edition of his, “The Bill Simmons Podcast” the founder of The Ringer claimed that not only will Warriors great Draymond Green be headed to Dallas in the near future, but so will one of the greatest players in league history.

“I think he [Green] ends up in Dallas with Kyrie and with Luka, and then LeBron tries to figure out a way to get there eventually. That’s my prediction.”

At this point, there is some doubt Irving will still be a member of the Dallas Mavericks roster after this season, since he is an impending free agent and his stay in Texas has not gone well. However, the team may need to hold on to him so that their trade from February does not end up being a complete waste of valuable assets.

Green joining Dallas is not completely out of the question since there is a strong chance he opts out of the final year of his current deal and tests free agency this summer.

As for James, that seems less likely. However, there is the possibility that in two years Dallas drafts his son Bronny and lures him with the dream of playing a year with his eldest son.
