Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb may return in Week 10, and if so, he is a must-start in Fantasy lineups.

Nick Chubb (MCL sprain) has missed the past five games and has since returned to practice ahead of his Week 10 home matchup against the Houston Texans.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jim Trotter, Chubb is “progressing” and the Browns plan to decide on Friday whether both Chubb and Kareem Hunt will take the field on Sunday.

Fantasy impact of Nick Chubb’s potential return

Chubb’s return will provide a huge boost to the Browns offense, not only as it prepares to host the Texans in Week 10, but as it attempts to improve from its 5-3 record in the AFC North.

As far as fantasy football goes, if indeed Chubb suits up, he has a fantastic Week 10 matchup against Houston.

Fantasy owners will want to monitor Chubb’s status as Friday approaches. If he plays, Chubb is a must-start against a Houston defense that is getting destroyed by running backs, giving up the second-most fantasy points to this position in 2020.

Prior to Nick Chubb’s unfortunate injury, he averaged a stout 83.8 rushing yards per game and scored four times.

In Chubb’s absence, Hunt took over the primary ball carrying duties. But, he was not quite the fantasy stud those expected he would be while having the backfield to himself.

Those who own Chubb in fantasy should be thrilled about his return as the playoffs approach. His opponents beyond the Texans include, the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Even returning to share the backfield as soon as this Sunday, Nick Chubb is a solid fantasy start. Hunt will also nicely fill the flex spot.

Stay tuned here for more updates on Nick Chubb as Friday inches closer and a decision is made regarding the running back.
