The 2025-26 NHL season starts a week earlier than last season, and on Wednesday, the New Jersey Devils’ schedule dropped for their next82-game endeavor.
Season Opener: October 9, 2025, at Carolina Hurricanes
The Devils will kick off their 43rd NHL season on the road against newly inked Nikolaj Ehlers and the Carolina Hurricanes, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. ET at Lenovo Center. It’s an early “revenge game” for New Jersey given their history, which includes a tough second-round exit in 2023. The season opener marks a three-game road trip to open the campaign, in which they will visit the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets as well.
Home Opener: October 16, 2025, vs. Florida Panthers
The Devils return to Prudential Center, aka “The Rock,” for their home opener on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. ET, where they’ll face the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. It will be the first time Devils fans will be able to see new additions such as Evgenii Dadonov and Connor Brown alongside fan favorites, Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and Jesper Bratt.
All Devils home games will have a 7:00 P.M. start time, except for:
- 3:30 pm: October 18 vs. Edmonton
- 1:00 pm: October 26 vs. Colorado
- 12:30 pm: November 8 vs. Pittsburgh
- 12:30 pm: December 13 vs. Anaheim
- 12:30 pm: December 14 vs. Vancouver
- 3:00 pm: January 3 vs Utah
- 3:00 pm: March 7 vs NY Rangers

- October 18, 2025, vs. Edmonton Oilers: Just two days after the home opener, the Devils host the Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers, featuring former Devil Curtis Lazar.
- November 26, 2025, vs. St. Louis Blues: The Devils host the Blues on Thanksgiving Eve, continuing a tradition of facing St. Louis the night before Thanksgiving for the second consecutive season.
- March 3–16, 2026, Seven-Game Homestand against Florida, Toronto, the Rangers, Detroit, Calgary, Los Angeles, and Boston.
- April 14, 2026, at Boston Bruins: The Devils close out the regular season on the road against the Bruins.
