The New Jersey Devils, now 9-4-0 after a loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, return to Prudential Center against the Montreal Canadiens, who stand at 9-3-1 with a 5-2-0 road record. The Devils have a tall task tonight, as they look to get back on track against the leaders of the Atlantic Division.

Dawson Mercer’s rebound season (8G, 6A) presses on, scoring five goals and six points in his last five games. Jack Hughes (10G, 6A) and Mercer are leading the way in New Jersey. Meanwhile, Jacob Markstrom looks settled after he inked a new two-year extension. Sheldon Keefe and Co. are hoping that continues at home tonight.

The Canadiens are hot, paced by an even hotter Nick Suzuki (3G, 16A) and Cole Caufield (10G, 6A), who are all looking to extend their strong start.

It’s certainly a battle between two young, exciting, up-and-coming teams.

Let’s dive into tonight’s matchup.
