Devils Trade Rumors & News

Yesterday was quite the day of Olympic hockey action in Milan. Jack Hughes and Simon Nemec are the last Devils standing in the tournament after Slovakia eliminated Germany and the United States eliminated Sweden. Tomorrow Canada will face Finland, and the U.S. will face Czechia in the semi-final.

Jack registered a huge assist against Sweden to open the scoring on a Dylan Larkin goal. He’s upped his point total to four (1g, 3a) in four games in the tournament. Nemec didn’t factor in on the scoresheet, but Slovakia pummeled Germany 6-2. Here are all of yesterday’s scores:

NHL Trade Talk, News & National Hockey Now

The Athletic ($): Last year at the 4 Nations Face-Off, Team USA didn’t have Quinn Hughes for the big moment. When they need him most, he delivered the OT winner vs. Sweden to advance to the semi-finals.

NY Post ($): The New York Rangers have thrown in the towel on the 2025-26 season. Alxis Lafreniere opened up to the NY Post about the brutal reality ahead for the Blueshirts.

Forever Blueshirts: Speaking of the Rangers, Mika Zibanejad is one of the Blueshirts who were in Milan. Yesterday against the red, white, and blue, his loan goal wasn’t enough to keep Sweden in the tournament.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Of all the great things that happened yesterday between several excellent hockey games, one not so great development unfolded. Pittsburgh Penguins and Team Canada captain, Sidney Crosby, exited yesterday’s game against Czechia with a lower-body injury and didn’t return.

Vegas Hockey Now: If you thought Team USA cut it close, Canada was probably cutting it even closer. They trailed for the majority of the game yesterday to Czechia. Yet, they clawed their way to overtime, and it was Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner who called gamed.
