New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, March 2, 2026, alongside his brother Quinn Hughes and women’s Team USA hockey captain Hilary Knight. The joint interview follows both the men and women’s gold-medal performances at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, where both teams beat Canada in overtime to claim gold
Hughes scored the decisive goal in the men’s gold-medal game, a 2-1 overtime victory on Sunday, February 22nd, 2026. At 1:41 of the extra frame, he beat Canada goaltender Jordan Binnington five-hole on a cross-ice pass from Zach Werenski, securing Team USA’s first men’s Olympic hockey gold since 1980. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 41 saves in the win. Hughes led Team USA in tournament goals (four) and played a key role after some doubt crept in due to a poor 4 Nations Face-Off performance a year prior.
Upon returning to New Jersey, the Devils honored Hughes with a pregame ceremony at Prudential Center before his first game back.
“I’m so proud and I’m so happy that the Men’s and Women’s USA Hockey teams brought Gold Medals back to the United States of America,” Hughes said during his pregame ceremony.
“You guys are making me emotional.”
The Tonight Show episode, airing at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on NBC (with next-day streaming on Peacock), will also include guests Nicole Kidman and Luke Thompson, plus a cooking segment with Chef Mario Carbone.
The Devils’ first overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft is watching his stock rise from an NHL star, to an international superstar.
“It’s been, obviously, some of the best three days of my life,” Hughes said on Wednesday upon returning to the Devils after the Olympic break. I had so much fun with that group of guys, and I’m sure everyone on the team is probably wishing it was still going, but it’s nice to get back in their routine and get back to work here.
