The New Jersey Devils are in a dicey situation. Without Luke Hughes long-term, it makes all the sense in the world to hang onto Dougie Hamilton. At least until the offseason. However, the Devils trade chatter hasn’t gone away.

Yesterday, a team on Hamilton’s approved list was revealed. Typically, that means conversations have been had. It’s believed the Devils are still prepared to trade him. We’ll see what happens. More below in the links on the Hamilton suitor.

Elsewhere, San Jose is eyeing an NYR blueliner, an Artemi Panarin trade wrinkle, and more.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils Trade Rumors & News

The Athletic ($): Well, here’s something. One of the teams on Dougie Hamilton’s 10-team trade list has been revealed, and they’re a team that’s a legitimate suitor for the Devils defenseman.

NHL Trade Talk, News & National Hockey Now

More Athletic ($): With a full no-trade/move, Artemi Panarin has complete control over his future. Could he want an extension attached to a potential trade?

Forever Blueshirts: Panarin isn’t the only New York Rangers skater in the rumor mill. According to reports, the San Jose Sharks have their eye on Braden Schneider.

Detroit Hockey Now: Is history repeating itself with the Detroit Red Wings? It took the rest of the NHL far too long to realize how good Nicklas Lidstrom was. It’s happening again with Moritz Seider.

Toronto Hockey Now: Good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs could be bad news for the Devils. There’s optimism that Oliver Ekman-Larsson isn’t as injured as initially believed. That could deter their interest in Hamilton.
