Stick a fork in ’em. The New Jersey Devils‘ season is toast. Their latest loss drops their playoff chances to 0.55%, and they look like a team that’s just waiting for the season to end.

It raises a lot of questions, however. What will they do at the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline in seven days? Does GM Tom Fitzgerald have the right to steer the ship? Will they finally move some names? Are they going to try and strategically buy for next season? Can they promote some internal players to see what they have in them? Who will be behind the bench next season? Should they plan for Gavin McKenna?
There’s a lot to dissect here. We’ll do that in the coming days. But, for now, more on their ugly loss to the Sidney Crosby-less Pens down below.
