Boston Hockey Now: As soon as Charlie McAvoy skated off the ice holding a towel to his bloody face last Saturday night, it was apparent the Boston Bruins would be without their top defenseman for a while. That is confirmed to be the case, as he had surgery on Wednesday and has no timeline to return.
The Athletic ($): Mikko Rantanen reached out to Alexander Romanov to apologize about injuring the New York Islanders defenseman. The Dallas Stars forward has not heard back from him. You know what he did hear, however? Patrick Roy blatantly threatened Rantanen, sending a warning about their next meeting.
