Jakub Dobes simply finds ways to win, including his strong effort to secure a 2-1 victory on Thursday night. The win was his 24th of the year, which is more than legendary netminder Patrick Roy had in his rookie season. It was also a crucial game when discussing Montreal’s playoff odds. Lane Hutson quietly hit 70 points on Thursday night versus the Columbus Blue Jackets, making him just the fourth defenceman in franchise history to reach the 70-point mark.

Head coach Martin St-Louis was clearly frustrated with the media on Thursday morning, a rather common occurrence in Montreal. The members of the media are attempting to gain as much information as possible before games, whereas St-Louis had made it clear he’s going to keep his cards close to his chest as the race to the playoffs heats up.

Forward Alexandre Texier was not in uniform on Thursday, with Joe Veleno replacing him in the lineup. Texier is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

ESPN produced a very interesting segment on top Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael Hage, touching on a few subjects, including his father’s unfortunate passing.

Shockingly, or not, two of the team’s best goalscorers spend a lot of time practicing their goal scoring.

The Bruins’ road narrative is starting to change as the schedule gets tougher. There are 10 games remaining in the season, with six on the road and seven against playoff teams. In their upcoming stretch, the Bruins have three sets of back-to-backs. Only three opponents (Florida, Philadelphia, and New Jersey) sit outside the playoff picture.  [Boston Bruins]

The Detroit Red Wings need to start winning games. After losing to the Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators in heartbreaking fashion, Detroit sits one point out of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 11 games remaining in the regular season. Despite earning 84 points through 71 games, the Red Wings need more. [Detroit Red Wings]
