Phase 1 of the NHL Draft Lottery left a trail of misery for every team not in the Return to Play scenario. That’s because the #1 pick went to a placeholder team. Now the first team to enter the Alexis Lafreniere sweepstakes are the New York Rangers.
Just announced today, the second draft lottery will be held on Monday, August 10th at 6PM.

Alexis Lafreniere, will be an amazing consolation prize for the Rangers or any team knocked out of the qualifying round. At an early age, he seemed to excel and looked destined to be a top draft pick in the NHL.
The kid has all the makings to be an elite player in the league and has been under the microscope for years. Lafreniere has the skills to be a superstar and the Rangers will have a 12.5% chance of getting him.
All that remains now is who will the other seven teams in the running be?
