This pass by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton definitely didn’t mean to lands in the hands of Seattle Seahawks’ defensive back Kam Chancellor, which resulted in a pick six late in the fourth quarter of the teams matchup Sunday night.
The Panthers were down by two touchdowns at this point. And instead of tightening the game up, Newton threw this awful pass that was returned 90 yards for a touchdown by the Pro Bowl safety. With little chance of the Panthers catching up, this dreadful pick six was just what the Seahawks needed to seal their victory.
By virtue of this pick and Chancellor’s overall play, the defending champions will host the NFC Championship game next weekend.
