The Denver Broncos had one of the NFL’s best defenses in 2025. They allowed just 18.3 points per game, good for the third-fewest in football.

While coach Sean Payton’s team was good enough to win 14 games in the regular season, there was no answer once Bo Nix suffered a fractured ankle in the team’s Divisional Round playoff win over the Buffalo Bills. The Broncos lost the next week in a 10-7 nailbiter with backup QB Jarrett Stidham leading the way.

Evidently, the Broncos came up short, and they’ve spent all offseason trying to strengthen the roster while patching up weaknesses. But that work isn’t done quite yet.

Now a former All-Pro and Broncos legend, Von Miller wants to return to Denver for another shot at a Super Bowl run. Miller has won two championship rings, one with the Rams and the other while winning Super Bowl MVP.

Miller recently spoke with Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post and revealed that he’s been “lobbying” publicly, privately — any way he can, to rejoin the Broncos.

“I lobby. I do lobby,” Miller said, via Parker. “I lobby publicly. I lobby privately. I do lobby. I think there’s no question the type of environment I bring to a locker room and to a team. I don’t like to pat myself on the back, but at 37 years old I can still roll out of bed and rush the quarterback. I’m still a great guy in the locker room. I bring great energy, and I’m going to make sure everybody is ready to go.”

Miller says that even if he wouldn’t play nearly as big a role in 2026 as he played during his 10-year career in Denver, he and Nik Bonitto would “be a force.”

“Obviously, I wouldn’t start. Obviously, I wouldn’t play special teams,” Miller said. “But I will say, the type of room that we would have, the outside linebackers with me, Nik Bonitto, we’d be a force. Whatever coach we have going on, I would just contribute to that. The defense that we’d have. I’d love to bring back those Super Bowl 50 vibes.”

It’s hard not to see Miller’s comments and imagine him making an impact in Denver again. Even though he recently turned 37, Miller still recorded nine sacks last season while playing just 37% of the team’s defensive snaps. He clearly believes he could still play at a high level, and the Broncos might feel inclined to find out whether that’s true.
