Super Bowl LX provides the New England Patriots organization an opportunity to win the Lombardi Trophy without Bill Belichick, accomplishing what quarterback Tom Brady did just a few years ago. However, it appears New England’s franchise icon will not be rooting for his longtime team to beat the Seattle Seahawks.
On the latest episode of the Let’s Go! Podcast, Brady told host Jim Gray that he doesn’t “have a dog in the fight in this one” and would enjoy seeing either franchise win as long as there’s good football.

“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one. May the best team win. And in terms of the Patriots, this is a new chapter in New England, and I’m glad everyone’s embraced the Mike Vrabel regime, all the amazing players that have worked so hard to get their club to this position. We did it for 20 years. There was a little bit of a hiatus in there, but the Patriots are back and it’s a very exciting time for everyone in New England. I just wanna see good football. I wanna see good plays, good throws, good strategy, good decisions.”
Tom Brady on if he wants the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LX
Some might be skeptical of Brady—whose No. 12 is retired by the team and who is in the Patriots Hall of Fame—saying he is not rooting for New England to win. However, there is at least one reason to believe the future Hall of Famer is being genuine.
Brady is a co-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, and he played a crucial role in the team’s decision to hire Klint Kubiak as its next head coach. Before that becomes official, however, Kubiak must serve as the Seahawks’ play-caller, and he will be instrumental to their winning the Lombardi Trophy.

Plus, as the top color commentator for FOX Sports’ NFL games, he often is part of the broadcast for many games involving NFC teams each season. That included the NFC Championship Game, where he watched Kubiak’s offense put up 31 points and nearly 400 total yards.
With that said, if the Patriots win the Super Bowl on Sunday, no one will be surprised if he is celebrating with the team at some point or in Foxborough to witness the parade.
