New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady might be suspended for the first four games of the season, but he’s not sitting back feeling sorry for himself.
The future Hall of Famer is apparently teaming up with Michael Strahan on a television show that’s set to premiere on the Audience Network in mid-November.
Don’t fret, football fans. This isn’t going to be a comedy that’s on par with the embarrassment of a project Strahan himself conducted years back.
Instead, it’s going to take a more serious look at sports fandom and religion.
Brady himself had this to say about the project and his reasoning behind getting involved.
“I’ll never forget watching ‘The Catch’ in Candlestick Park with my dad. I was four years old, in awe of it all. In a lot of ways, I’ve dedicated my life to replicating that feeling. Now, playing on the same stage as my childhood idols, I’m fortunate to have a pretty unique perspective on football and the sports world,” Brady said Wednesday, via The Hollywood Reporter. “I can think of no better vehicle than Religion of Sports to share some of what I’ve learned and dig a little deeper into that feeling, the sort of spiritual experience that sports creates for players and fans alike.”
Titled Religion of Sports, the show will focus on sports as a whole and how they can be connected within the broader landscape of faith.
Brady and Strahan will represent two of the show’s eight executive producers. The show itself is headed by Gotham Chopra, the son of spiritual leader and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra.
