New Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh hasn’t been on the job for longer than three weeks, yet he’s been busy assembling his coaching staff ever since. He’s already hired former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll to be the team’s new offensive coordinator/playcaller.

Now, Saleh has found his right-hand man on defense too.

On Monday, Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer reported that the Titans have hired Gus Bradley to be the team’s new defensive coordinator. Though, Bradley is not expected to call plays, as Saleh has already committed to that role for the start of the 2026 season.

Like Daboll, Bradley is another former NFL head coach, leading the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013 to 2016. But he also has 12 seasons of experience as an NFL defensive coordinator.

The Titans may have felt pressured to make a quick hire with Bradley, being that he was also being linked to the Arizona Cardinals, where he actually would have been calling defensive plays for new coach Mike LaFleur.

Bradley, 59, will now be tasked with helping the Titans improve upon a defensive unit that ranked 28th in points allowed in 2025. Of course, Saleh will have a heavy hand in that turnaround, but he’ll often be leaning on Bradley too.
