The Tennessee Titans have their new head coach, and Robert Saleh is practically the opposite of their last hire, Brian Callahan. While Callahan’s specialty lied on offense, Saleh has built up a reputation for being one of the NFL’s greatest defensive minds. He also has previous head coaching experience.

While Saleh should be well-equipped to fix a defense that ranked 28th in points allowed, finding an offensive coordinator who can maximize Cam Ward‘s potential will be paramount to Tennessee’s success. Yet, the Titans already have someone in mind.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Titans are “expected” to hire former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll for their offensive play-calling position. However, if Daboll, who is also under consideration to fill the Buffalo Bills’ head coaching vacancy, finds a promotion elsewhere, the Titans will have to find a new plan.

Daboll has also interviewed for the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy. While the Giants felt like he was no longer the right man to be their head coach, he’s clearly in high demand for other positions.

Daboll has eight seasons of NFL experience as an offensive coordinator (plus one at Alabama) and another four years as a head coach. He’d certainly bring more stability to a Titans offense that ranked 30th in scoring as Ward enters his second season of play.
