The Las Vegas Raiders are one of six teams still hunting for a new head coach. Yet, with their general manager, John Spytek, still in place from last season, the Raiders’ QB plans could largely already be in place.

Some even believe the Raiders are plotting to make a splashy blockbuster trade for a proven starter, like a certain two-time NFL MVP. While a trade of that magnitude won’t be easy to pull off, the Raiders are the only team that boasts the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft as a trade bargaining chip.

Recently, ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler made a series of offseason player movement predictions. In doing so, he connected the Raiders to a trade for the Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson.

An unnamed NFL personnel evaluator added more fuel to the fire to help “instantly solve (the Raiders’) QB problems.”

“It just seems like there’s been some consternation there with Lamar and the Ravens, and this would be the ultimate Mark Davis move,” an NFL personnel evaluator said. “I’m not even convinced everybody with Vegas would be on board with it but it would instantly solve their quarterback problems.”

The Raiders need to do something different at the QB position this offseason. They can’t run it back with Geno Smith and Aidan O’Connell. Kenny Pickett is set for free agency.

Getting someone proven like Jackson, a four-time Pro Bowler, would instantly spring the Raiders back into the conversation as potential contenders. That’s where they thought Pete Carroll and Geno Smith could help get them last season, but it just didn’t come to fruition for the three-win team. Yet, that’s why the Raiders needed to make changes.
