Last offseason, the New England Patriots surprisingly signed Stefon Diggs to a three-year, $63.5 million contract while the four-time Pro Bowler was recovering from a torn ACL. Yet, Diggs produced at a high level, recording the seventh 1,000-yard season of his career.
Back on March 11, after the Patriots’ season ended following their Super Bowl loss, New England released Diggs from the remainder of his contract. Somehow, the former All-Pro wideout has remained unsigned since.
Now, as teams begin reporting for voluntary organized team activities, speculation about which team Diggs will sign with has only increased.

Recently, NFL insider Jason La Canfora of SportsBoom spoke with multiple NFL personnel executives who connected Diggs to the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Commanders, and even a reunion with the New England Patriots.
“With Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice now back in legal trouble and dealing with more health concerns, multiple personnel execs from other teams told me they believe Diggs, would be a strong fit in Andy Reid’s offense as a secondary piece. Others suggested Washington, which would be a homecoming for the local product who starred at the nearby University of Maryland, as a realistic landing spot for the former Pro Bowl pass catcher. (A.J.) Brown has largely been linked to the Patriots, but if that doesn’t end up being a fit, a return to New England might not be out of the question, either.”

Now 32 years old, Diggs still managed to suit up for all 17 regular season games, plus all four of the Patriots’ postseason matchups too. While the former fifth-round pick has enjoyed an excellent career, generating 11,504 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns, Diggs still hasn’t won a Super Bowl ring. That pursuit will continue in 2026, but with which team?
