When Stefon Diggs became a free agent back in March, his conditions were a bit different from those of his fellow athletes hitting the open market. For one, the 32-year-old had been dealing with legal issues that may have impacted his availability for the 2026-27 NFL season.
However, now that Diggs was cleared of those charges on May 4, the four-time Pro Bowl receiver’s market is expected to pick up. Being that he’s highly competitive, we expect Diggs to prioritize a chance to land with a playoff contender. Below, we evaluate the four best and most likely landing spots for the former All-Pro.

Buffalo Bills

How about a reunion? We’d argue that the Bills still haven’t gotten their MVP QB enough help at the receiver position. D. J. Moore may not be the solution, but we could see it working out while also adding Stefon Diggs to help take attention away from each other. Diggs already knows the offense, and he has pre-existing chemistry with Josh Allen. It just makes too much sense not to work.
New England Patriots

The Patriots may have been worried about the potential PR hit plus a possible future suspension for Diggs when deciding to release him from their roster back in March. Now that the NFL Draft has come and gone, without the Patriots adding anyone except Romeo Doubs in free agency, the Patriots should welcome Diggs back with open arms and try to actually win the Super Bowl this time.
Kansas City Chiefs

Who wouldn’t want to team up with Patrick Mahomes? Diggs is still chasing his first Super Bowl ring, and Kansas City is always confident in its ability to reach the big game. Who knows? Perhaps with Diggs on board, they can quickly get back on top of the mountain.
Washington Commanders

Diggs is a D.C. native, leading to frequent rumors that he’d like to play for the Washington Commanders. When it came time to pick a college, he chose to stay close to home and play for Maryland. Now given a chance to pick his next destination, why not consider an opportunity to become a hometown hero?
