A new rumor has revealed the New England Patriots‘ failed offer to the Philadelphia Eagles for AJ Brown.
Brown’s future will be one of the biggest stories in the NFL this offseason. The receiver is a three-time Pro Bowler and can be a game breaker every week. However, in 2025, the 28-year-old did not hide his frustration with how he was used in the offense. Creating a scenario where it might be in the best interest of the team to move Brown.
Despite the damage he did to his reputation last season, many teams will be interested in acquiring his services. One that has been linked to the pass catcher often is the Patriots. Well, it seems that New England made an offer to Philly recently, and it obviously fell short.
AJ Brown stats: 78 catches, 1,003 yards, 7 touchdowns, 12.9 yards per catch
According to Philadelphia Sports radio personality Anthony Gargano, he claims the Patriots offered a first and third-round pick for AJ Brown. However, he could not confirm if it was in next month’s NFL Draft or in a future year. If they are in this year’s draft, that would be picks 31 and 95 overall.
Earlier this week, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that the Eagles were looking for a Quinnen Williams-esque return in a potential trade for Brown. The New York Jets received a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith from the Dallas Cowboys for the four-time Pro Bowler before last season’s trade deadline.
Various reports have claimed that multiple teams have inquired about a trade for the star receiver. However, all indications are that none of them have nudged Eagles general manager Howie Roseman into seriously considering a trade.
