The New York Giants would’ve loved to head into the 2025 NFL Draft with Matthew Stafford acquired as their starting quarterback for the next few years. Instead, Stafford used the Giants as leverage to stay with the Los Angeles Rams. It keeps quarterback among the top Giants team needs this offseason, though, NFL free agency should address a few of those spots. With March’s arrival, our Giants mock draft examines how the team can be built through the 2025 NFL Draft.
Round 1, 3rd overall: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

We tend to believe that the New York Giants will sign a veteran quarterback – Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers – to avoid having to reach for one with the third overall pick. In this scenario, New York lands the best player in the 2025 NFL Draft. Travis Hunter provides the Giants defense with a No. 1 cornerback and he has All-Pro potential, with that ceiling offering a piece that both makes life easier for the Giants’ defensive line and allows a defensive coordinator to get more creative. Plus, New York can use Hunter in a rotational role as a wide receiver. This feels like the best-case scenario for the Giants, as Hunter can be a face of the franchise and he has game-changing talent on both sides of the ball even if he’ll play a majority of his snaps on defense.

Round 2, 34th overall: Tyler Booker, iOL, Alabama

The New York Giants finished last season ranked 26th in ESPN pass-block win rate (56 percent) and 27th in run-block win rate (69 percent). Even with a healthy Andrew Thomas, there’s a lot of room to improve the Giants offensive line. Tyler Booker would immediately step in as a replacement for left guard Jon Runyan, who proved to be a disappointment this past season. Booker doesn’t offer elite potential, but he’s a plug-and-play starter who could become a top-25 guard in the NFL.

Round 3, 65th overall: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

Signing a veteran to be the Giants starting quarterback in 2025 means waiting until Day 2 to draft his potential successor. Jalen Milroe, 6-foot-2, is a phenomenal athlete, with more than enough arm strength to make throws deep downfield. The aforementioned athleticism enables him to buy time in the pocket and evade pressure, while also potentially providing head coach Brian Daboll with a viable threat in the run game. Milroe’s accuracy, decision-making and his processing after the snap all need a lot of improvement. However, he can develop behind a veteran and still see the field in 2025 in special offensive packages.

Round 4, 104th overall: Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas

Adding a No. 1 cornerback early in our Giants mock draft would allow the team to hold off on addressing the safety position until a little later in the 2025 NFL Draft. Fortunately, there’s still value to be found to kick off Day 3 with Texas Longhorns safety Andrew Mukuba. He’s a four-year starter with the football IQ and instincts to match that experience. While he’s undersized (5-foot-11), Mukuba is a good athlete and it shows up in his playmaking ability. Ultimately, he could be a quality starter in the Giants secondary and this high-floor prospect can see the field quickly.

Round 4, 134th overall: Chase Lundt, OT, UConn

UConn offensive lineman Chase Lundt certainly shouldn’t see the field quickly, but he could be a long-term starter for the New York Giants. Standing at 6-foot-8, Lundt offers prototypical size for the position and he pairs it with experience as a four-year starter who played over 3,000 snaps at the collegiate level. Lundt’s shorter arms will keep him at right tackle and he’s not very great versus powerful edge defenders, but quality coaching could make him a starter in 2026.

Round 5, 155th overall: Kobe King, LB, Penn State

The Giants defense certainly needs more depth, including at linebacker. Kobe King often operated as the commander of an excellent Penn State Nittany Lions defense, making sure his teammates were aligned in the right spots. King’s already got NFL-caliber size for a MIKE linebacker along with the instincts, aggressiveness and football IQ to go with it. Below-average athleticism pushes him down the 2025 NFL Draft, but he could be a solid rotational off-ball linebacker for New York.

Round 7, 221st overall: Raheim Sanders, RB, South Carolina

Tyrone Tracy Jr. proved to be a gem for the New York Giants last season, averaging 4.4 yards per carry as a rookie. However, this team also seems to want a committee backfield. South Carolina running back Raheim Sanders lit up the NFL Combine (23.55 mph max speed), which is excellent for a 6-foot running back who comes in at over 220 pounds. Sanders can be a between-the-tackles runner for New York who has more than enough juice to rip off some big runs. He’s perfect for the Giants’ RBBC.
Round 7, 248th overall: Zakhari Franklin, WR, Illinois

Rounding out our Giants mock draft, it’s potentially more depth for the receiving corps. Illinois wide receiver Zakhari Franklin has six years of playing experience at the collegiate level. He offers nice size (6-foot-1) with solid hands and would at least have a shot at making the Giants practice squad in his rookie season.
