After two seasons and zero playoff appearances, the New York Jets are moving on from Aaron Rodgers this offseason, and they’re expected to cut him from the roster. This means the four-time NFL MVP and future Hall of Famer will be one of the best quarterbacks available in free agency.

Several teams need a quarterback upgrade this offseason, and Rodgers could be a fit for a number of them. Yet, which teams should target Rodgers in free agency? Let’s take a quick look at five destinations for the former Jets QB.
Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. That makes them the favorites to land one of the draft’s top two quarterbacks, either University of Miami’s Cam Ward or University of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. Yet, what if the Titans feel both rookies need a bit of extra seasoning before being thrown to the dogs? Adding a former Super Bowl winner like Aaron Rodgers could buy the Titans more time while helping second-year head coach Brian Callahan get a few cheap wins on his resume.

New York Giants

Fourth-year head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are under immense pressure to win with the New York Giants. While they’re likely to consider a young franchise quarterback who can be a long-term solution, the Giants need to land in the winning column more often in 2025 and Rodgers could have just enough motivation to find success with Malik Nabers and company in New York.

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns have to be fed up with their results since trading for Deshaun Watson, yet they clearly still believe in former NFL Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski. The Browns have the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but now that Deshaun Watson’s suffered a setback with his Achilles, Cleveland doesn’t have a quarterback. A short-term fix could send Rodgers to Cleveland where he’d have a Pro Bowl receiver and tight end with Jerry Jeudy plus David Njoku.

Las Vegas Raiders

Pete Carroll could lead a quick turnaround with the Las Vegas Raiders. Having Brock Bowers will help, but the Raiders won’t go anywhere without a QB upgrade. That’s where Rodgers could provide an ideal short-term fix that buys the Raiders more time to find a long-term solution.

Pittsburgh Steelers could be perfect for Aaron Rodgers

Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t missed the playoffs in his 18 seasons as head coach. If you’re Rodgers, what better scenario could exist? The Steelers have to sign a new contract with a quarterback anyway, so why not turn to a four-time NFL MVP with a big chip on his shoulders?
