The start 2026 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night, and with two selections in the first round the New York Giants will be a popular talking point in the opening round. Barring a trade, the Giants will pick at No. 5 and No. 10.
Many expect the Giants to either target star Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love or a defender such as Ohio State’s Sonny Styles with the No. 5 pick. At No. 10? Things get a bit more murky, but NFL insiders are doing their best to gather intel on what the Giants are thinking with their second first-round pick.
Recently, Essentially Sports’ NFL insider Tony Pauline relayed his intel, saying “sources tell me they believe the Giants will use the 10th pick on a receiver.”
“Sources tell me they believe the Giants will use the 10th pick on a receiver, as there is a concern that Malik Nabers may not be 100 percent by Week 1 after the knee injury he suffered last season in late September. The concern is understandable, when you look at the production they would be missing. Through the four games he competed in, he had notched 271 yards and two touchdowns.”

If a receiver is the target for the Giants at No. 10, the prospect most commonly linked to New York is Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson. Though, there’s been speculation that other teams, such as the Commanders, Saints, and even Chiefs could snatch him up first. They select seventh, eighth, and ninth, just ahead of the Giants at 10.
Tyson is a 6-foot-2 receiver with WR1 potential. Of course, with a healthy Nabers, the Giants don’t need a WR1, but it never hurts to have weapons, especially to maximize the potential of a young QB like Jaxson Dart.
