Cornerback has been a popular topic among Minnesota Vikings fans in recent years, with many skeptics wondering if Brian Flores has enough talent and depth at the position. Yet, the Vikings’ defensive coordinator hasn’t seem worried, instead coming up with creative ways to get his safeties more involved. Heck, the Vikings only kept three cornerbacks on the roster at the final cutdown coming out of training camp.
Nevertheless, the Vikings’ cornerback group has once again come into focus ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. While the team likes the production they got out of their starting tandem of Byron Murphy and Isaiah Rodgers, and have only since added James Pierre to the group, more changes could be coming.
Recently, Sports Illustrated‘s Albert Breer took a crack at which team could be a fit for Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore, who has requested a trade from the team. The Colts intend to find a trade partner for the soon-to-be 31-year-old. While analyzing the best landing spots, Breer tossed out the Dallas Cowboys and Vikings as two teams that could make a play for the Pro Bowl CB.
“As for potential landing spots, I think Dallas would be one, with the nickel being an important piece in new coordinator Christian Parker’s defense and the Cowboys having a hole after Jourdan Lewis’s departure to the Jaguars last year.

The Vikings are another potential fit, with Moore’s versatility meshing, at least on paper, with how DC Brian Flores builds his defense. Those teams being in the NFC should also make them likely suitors, assuming Indy would rather not help out a conference rival. Moore is in a contract year, so that’ll drive down his value some. But if the price was a Day 3 pick on the higher end, and I had a need like Dallas and Minnesota, I’d probably do it.”
Moore is best utilized in the slot or in the nickelback role, as Breer alludes to. Moore may not be asked to go toe-to-toe with the game’s greatest outside receivers, but teams value having someone who can be an effective coverage corner in the slot, and Moore has developed a reputation for being one of the best. Yet, with the arrival of Sauce Gardner, the Colts may feel like Moore is expendable for the right price.
Moore recorded 55 tackles (three for loss), 1.5 sacks, one interception, six pass deflections, and two forced fumbles across 14 appearances and seven starts last season. He’s started 111 of the 132 games he’s appeared in across his nine-year Colts career.
