Following one of the worst all-around performances from an NFL team in quite some time, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced some good news for his beleaguered squad. After missing a handful of games with a knee injury, Michael Bennett should make his return when the team takes on the Carolina Panthers in Week 13.

Bennett is one of the linchpins of a Seahawks defense that has been rocked by injuries this year yet continues to lead the league in points allowed.

Seattle’s up-and-down offense has been held back by the worst offensive line in the league. This is why the Seahawks have been somewhat of a disappointment this season despite having a talented roster.

With Bennett slated to return, Seattle’s defense should be much more formidable up front. He Though he only has three sacks and 24 tackles, he is a constant bother for offensive lines and opens up opportunities for his teammates.

Getting him back for the stretch run just adds more good news to a team that also expects to return star defensive back Earl Thomas to the lineup soon after he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 11.
