There’s been a lot of chatter about Maxx Crosby wanting a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. Some reports have already claimed that the 28-year-old never wants to play another snap for the Raiders.
It’s hard to know whether that’s true, but there’s enough smoke coming out of Crosby’s ears to believe it. After all, he was reportedly ticked off at the team for shutting him down for the final two games with an injury when he was adamant that he wanted to play. Some believe those fences have yet to be mended.
More recently, Crosby poured a whole tank of gas on the Raiders trade rumors involving himself, by heaping praise on Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams while having a face-to-face meeting with the young QB for Crosby’s podcast.
“Just to be open and honest, bro, like we talked about earlier, but respect at a different level, bro. You’re one of those guys, for sure, and you’re just getting started. I don’t even know you understand yet how good you can be, and that’s the scariest part. You know what I mean? Just keep that mindset, keep doing what you’re doing. You know we’re locked in forever. So keep doing your thing, bro. You need me, hit me at any time. It goes vice versa.”

Of course, it could mean nothing at all, besides the fact that Crosby clearly has a lot of respect for the former No. 1 overall pick. Yet, it’s enough for fans to speculate on a potential Crosby trade to the Bears this offseason.
Plus, the Bears could certainly use a boost to their pass-rush department after having the fourth-fewest sacks in the NFL in 2025. They’ve also shown a willingness to be aggressive in upgrading the roster, notably trading for All-Pro guard Joe Thuney last offseason.
Could the Bears be willing to make a strong offer for Crosby next? If so, they’ll likely have to be prepared to part with their first-round pick (No. 25 overall), and then some.
