Now that the Super Bowl is over, the next item on the checklist will be for the Las Vegas Raiders to name Klint Kubiak as their head coach. Soon after, they’ll start working on assembling the roster for the 2026 season.

While the Raiders will be adding a potential star with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, they could also be set to lose arguably their best player.

According to SportsBoom’s Jason LaCanfora, five-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher Maxx Crosby has informed the Raiders that he’ll never play another snap for them again.

“He told Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again,” the unnamed G.M. said. “That’s a fact. He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again. But I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him. Myles Garrett said the same thing last year, and we know how that ended up.”

This isn’t the first time Crosby trade rumors have emerged this offseason. It’s sure to be the last too. Unless or until Crosby comes out and declares that he doesn’t want a trade from the Raiders, expect to hear more about a potential trade out of Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old has reached the playoffs just once in his seven-year career. As noted, Garrett tried to pull a power move last season in Cleveland, and unless he was only looking for a bigger payday, it didn’t work.

Perhaps Crosby just wants a large raise to stick around in Vegas too. Or, maybe he’s fed up and doesn’t want to undergo another coaching change, as Kubiak will be his fifth head coach in just seven seasons. We’ll get a chance to find out soon enough, when the new league year kicks off on March 11.
