Now that the NFL Scouting Combine is over, the football world turns back to one of the biggest topics of the offseason: Maxx Crosby‘s status with the Las Vegas Raiders. Crosby has reportedly told the team he won’t play another snap with the team, and other reports have indicated he’s done with the Raiders too.

While new head coach Klint Kubiak has made it known that he wants the five-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher on the team. However, the Raiders have allegedly set a firm price in a potential Crosby trade, seeking two first-round picks, plus a player, much like the Cowboys got for trading Micah Parsons. However, Crosby is two years older than Parsons.

Yet, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, there could be some news on the Crosby trade front soon. Breer says he would “lean toward a Crosby trade happening maybe this week.”

“I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week. But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading. I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider.”

Breer went on to list the Bears, Bills, Cowboys, Eagles, Patriots, Rams, and Ravens as teams who are “keeping tabs on Crosby’s availability.” He adds that it will be “difficult” for the Raiders to fetch the type of trade return the Cowboys got a year ago for Parsons.

In other words, he doesn’t think the Raiders can get two first-round picks for Crosby, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try. The Raiders shouldn’t have any trouble fetching a first-round pick, plus change for one of the game’s best pass-rushers, but two top selections appears to be a stretch.
